The Eye of the Storm

Post number 2.

It’s been a couple of months since my last post and I’ve been busy: 5 Competition submissions and 2 more to a live anthology, totalling up at just under 30k words.

Not bad, I’d say. Not my best, but I wasn’t working full time, then, either.

I’ve received bad news, and good news, but it’s the good news I’m focussing on. At this point, I’ve received so many rejections it’s not an event anymore. But the sweet hit of dopamine when that ‘Congratulations’ come through is like no other.

A Quest for Fame has been published on The RC Sherriff Trust site after being ‘Commended’ in their recent competition!

Hello World

You've taken your first step into a larger world…

Well, here we go, my first post.

I’m not sure how many of these I’ll do, nor can I promise they’ll all be interesting but you’ve got to get your name out there and a website seems like the best place to start.

I’ve been writing novels for quite a while now, to little acclaim - and that’s fair enough. It’s a big world and cold calling is always a crapshoot. So this year I’ve decided to do something different.

Short Stories.

I have to say it’s been going pretty well so far. Before Dusk was published in early Jan and I’ve been submitting to other competitions all over the place since then. I’m now coming up to a busy period, with 7 comps coming up between now and may. Not sure yet if I’ll submit to them all, but I’m certainly going to try.

First up is for Indie Bites Issue 14 - WISHES & WIZARDS (teaser picture to the left!).

So, click around to see what I’m about and stay tuned for more!
